                                   The tower

There was once a place inlaid with a grand amount of time. It held secrets vast and far, and yet was dying. Succumbed by the powers of black, it was rode to oblivion. The land avast flowed around in a huge sphere, but it's people did not. The entire planet was dark, and had not much around. Mysteriously things would just give up fall deep into the ground. The sky it's self not freely flowing, but dull, hazed, bracken, acrid like a sigh yawned out by a dieing beggar. Regardless of what hue tried to shine from the distant star the very depth of death could be felt if you had touched the soil of the planet.

Many a lord upon this land was dark, their ideals had finally beaten any of those who saw the ways of life, light, and the overall white end of power.  To live through the power of death had been proven a strong way indeed.  The fear carried with death left this place when it was  proven you could live through inverting death. When the high lords of black, took it upon themselves to reveal a secret they kept for so long the secret rang far and loud. The many embracing the total ways of black lead to a war striking at the heart once balancing life and death. As beast gave way no longer propagating, even some converted to the ways of living through death could not continue for long. When it's life became sustained by the very force meant to end it the price paid by no other lives ever starting again from that being is spent. Death, Shadow, Black all names to things found so commonly during the peak of this planets revelation had found that the powers of white were more important then they could realize. To itメs very core as mysterious reasons unfolded the power's of black it's self had nothing to hold unto as the planet died endlessly forever stilled.

Exile to those who were still left. A hell unimaginable. The original reason to relieve the sorrows of the living long forgotten by those lords with the best intentions. It was brave to finally invert a force understood at killing life, and braver still for the many to embrace it.  Unnaturally long lives, bodies functions frozen as if they never aged, and rot if the being chose not to sustain Themselves through exposure to the very element of death periodically was the reality all who chose this path faced.
This secret should have been well kept. The original necromantic lords of this world were liches long before. With their often distant in nature the veil of secrets should have held. The toll , "a  being must feel death every day they live" should have been enough to instill a ever lasting fear. Alas, black had won as the layed down our swords pilfered rocks , gears of war slowed,  life hushed by the cool air breathed across. The stillness was haunting it should have been considered a bad omen then and there, but there was not care.

                      Crimson Oblivion

Upon the flames so darken and riddled stood towers a testament to the longing madness for purpose. Tyrannical ambitions beset forth desolated deep into solitude.  A dark hand stretched across the land twisting it into his vision of a fortress succumbed by the dullness. Turned down by regrets his power stuffed inside as time washed by. Xheris , In his sorrows might as well been a fallen lord, yet once considered with such high prestige.

He gazed out from the side of the center tower window of dark volcanic obsidian that has caressed the stone inlays way before he ever set foot near. Reaching out his gaze pierced further then his blind eyes could ever see. In his mind the very flows of time rushed through, perceived as it unwound before him. As it flowed back into his mind, the flaming pillars flitted out as they returned to dust from wence they formed. Yet still abound the tower with it's dark stone matching the volcanic glass's shade, ever leering beyond even the time his establishment existed. Once this tower was important, or so such was apparent to Xheris. It's past however was hazed with etched waves in time that seemed torn by the very events that shook the fabrics in reality it's self to the very core. This tower's mysterious aspects still hit deep in his being as his decision was solely  influenced by it's representation in his mind. The very conflict within his own soul was realized as a structure.

Regardless of attempt the only thing seen over and over the more he tried was only the crafting of his masterful estate. The chambers riddled out in various formations, each holding key important aspects to his power. He devoted many to the study of the tragedy befalling the various lords even to this day for the few that still existed in the land. Yet, his studies only proved that black as a power only lived together with another. Uselessly redundant, the fact of life being closed, and soon death to follow was all to apparent. It was merely just the balance speaking to him every time he tested the powers that be. A fade to black, an eternal fall, oblivion for all those known, and use to be known.

As time moved against his patience, and with his fears he knew there wasn't much upon the planet for any of the remaining lord's. Day turned to Dusk as the days did still die on this planet. The sky while black with night was still acrid in the depth of blood's red.  Xehris could not behold this occurrence with eye, but with body he felt the very red in his  bones. Shocked out of trance he Stood up upon the very edge of the window, and looked out to see the very flows of the planet grind to a halt. Awaiting the ends to the mean which occurred thousands of years ago seemed closer now then ever. The tone of the loudest silence now rang with it's calm before the storm a beckoning wave rolled across the flats far beyond the tower's shadow.
Xheris fell as he kicked off of the window with his feet rushing on by the side of the tower. A memory of when once such an action as this would be exhilarating flitted in, and fluttered out of his mind as he had not felt the same since his change to lich. The ground approached him at much greater speed than it would have so long ago. The weight his form had in the very bones was comparable to cast iron now days, but thrice as strong. As the shelf of rock encircling the tower got closer he did not slow. He angled his head up, and upon being only his height away  from the granite inlay he rolled forward landing hard standing straight up, denting the stone with his heels. An event such as this leaves it's mark, but Xheris marked the ground for record as each dented stone he left he could recall the events that took him out of his estate.

Between two open sided over hang halls that connected to the largely spaced out surrounding structure that encircled around the tower as a rainless roof area he walked between the structured hallways of  the north west, and north east direction. His destination was the heavily set stone inlaid North main gate. The gate had 2 walls come from it's sides diagonally arched back into two main keeps. The two keeps were large literally blocking the sun when it was not nearly middle in the sky. There were two adjacent keeps on the other side of the tower as well, making the 4 master keeps that held aloft the main chambers with their immense structural capability. Xheris as he headed north could perceived the energy still flowing about in the keep , and had to rely on this to navigate . The stroll took not long for the great distance he covered by mere stride had great strength.

Upon the gate's great maw he halted. He laid his hand upon the closure of the dark iron gate. He remembered often his envoy would greet him at the gate, but this was the wrong gate, and entirely the wrong estate for that memory to be correct. His hand shook the gate as sparks of green lines broke away from him, covering in various patterns that were inlaid into the very metal with bright green glows. Loud cracks, and wrestling mechanics, that ached from age and long ages of dormant rest began action. Xheris often did not use this gate, and only found it fitting that something of this interest should merit it's use. The very power of the realm however seemed to be gaining trajectories, once from silence and now in chaos.

The enclave of opened metal hanging high above his head, revealed a sight of the flat's which surrounded miles and miles of expanse far beyond the tower let alone the estate. The direction of the north gate held mountains at an extreme distance. The grand star, one of the biggest to be found in the sky and to some almost a second sun was found at the very peak of the mountains top. The night was soon to end once that star fell behind the mountain this worlds sun would rise from the right of the estate. Xheris walked out towards the mountains, his perception was trying to grasp what he had seen in the distance.

A mysterious figure dressed all in white drifted into Xheris's perception. A view of a white face, with the unending gaze of all black eyes fully open. Xheris could perceive these things about this being as it's very power flowed in those very shades. it drifted along arms outstretched drifting along high in the air. A sighn of no harm intended  as arms remained  outstretched neither a up or downwards facing look came from her head.  The figure drifted down with arms floating down as did the rest of  her apparent form. A women all of white but her eyes which seemed to gaze beyond the very reaches of depth in the abyss . Xheri's remained halted in place observing the women, but he could not sense much beyond what was the appearance. Behind her he could see red bright cracks, and blue cracks of bright color unfold in conflict amongst the sky. A battle not of beings, but the very powers amongst everything seemed to be rising up.  What appeared to come from crown of her head, but instead was in the distance where the top of the mountain could be seen in the  a gold fountain bickered amongst the two other powers in the sky. The lady slowly began,"Look out, and all you see be in pain or misery.". Xheris hesitated before he spoke out, "You are observant, but why are you here?". "Esin is who I am, and why you will see.", she lifted her right hand up against her chest then pointed left, outstretching her arm and rotating her body so that now her back faced Xheris. Xheris observed where this extreme expression pointed twords, and it was the sun of this world.

The sun once bright even to the oldest death lord who's sight fails heavily, now a  deep black in the center. A black pit, that seemed to grow. The ground began to crack from the direction of the sun ending up where Xheris stood. Xheris in outrage looked for the women, but in fear fled for his estate as could not find Esin. Xheris ported to the top of the tower to look out, at all that was happening to his very world, it seemed at last the collapse was happening. The sky remaining mostly shades of red, the blue streaks now plenty though, Everything darkening as the energy of the planet seemed to turn an extreme lucid black, and all things in chaos ,"this is how a world dies"thought Xheris. From the vantage point in the very held of the top of the tower surrounded in a light stone over hang Xheris spoke out against the end. Channeling far more power then he had in hundreds of years in tests, he attempted to keep things from breaking. The very power he used in this ricocheted amongst the air, clashing against the rips and tears of the breaking reality. The tower began a humming glow of black and scarlet, Xheris reached out harder then ever before he was not going to loose everything.  The tower however, had another ideal behind it as it hummed and crackled with Xheris , and the conflict with the world ending's power danced all around.

A bright flash of red scarlet bound Xheri's form to the floor, his head forced up to look at a black sphere formed by the tower's original dark ambition. The tower's top rotated slowly but surely, as Xheri's could see all the world he once knew give way. Xheri's began to feel a pulling, at first the same amount of force a port usually feels like, but then it became more violent and in multiple directions. He felt such deep within his soul, his body felt no pain however. The northern gate came back into view, as the last sight he saw was of the Esin on top of the gate. A sword brandished to her side with 6 dark lords flanking her flitted out as he was torn away.

Xheris's form lay dormant, silently defiant against the chaos amongst and throughout the land. The lords surrounding Esin took their swords and plunged them into the ground bowing in her direction. Xheris was forced to let go of his form, as the last of his unconscious self was ripped away.

                                   The raise

In the depth of the very abyss Xheris had found he could not move, speak, or even think. Time was no longer  a concept, for what he experienced was truly endless in  a single moment. Though in having no concept of time, or even memory of such makes whatever happens next very instant in experience. Xheris was no longer a name to him, and all things once cherished or loathed were now forgot. The deep black etched along white  chasing the sides in streaks twining it's way like a tunnel, but to where it all was heading across entire existences.  He spun rippling through the very fabrics of space and time as his being experienced a speed unknown to many others, and yet not even known to himself. His obliteration had carried him far into the forbidden, and strange but he could not see this for himself. He had not eyes, or a body, not even his spirit could perceive as it was torn apart blinded by the very events transcribed as the tower ended with the planet.

His perception recovered little by little as the black which surrounded him finally was apparent after not even being able to perceive it. Like the shadows seen with eyes closed finally returning to ones mind the darkness flitted in. Soon it lightened, and began to keep lightening till pain was felt from the very burning of the intensity.  Like a sting you couldn't get away the light burned at the nameless one. The burn occurred though, and a contrasting cold pressure occurred slightly, but surely brushed harshly. Solidly coming into his very being was direction, then he felt his position within space, and then he felt a odd thing a heart beat.

He could feel static shocks arc, as they crackled across his form he could feel aspects of it. The skin became apparent from the first tingle as it hurt in wake of the electrical waves pulsing over them, and not far after limbs became apparent. A hand raised, which one was unknown. A eye flitted open to only quickly be shut by blaring pain. A deafening silence blared in only to be crashed by static sounding wind.

The jaw locked open and in a slight struggle it couldn't be closed. A cold siphon of air blasted in, and hot air burst out from the mouth causing the body to jerk up from the solid ground he once laid upon. His right arm naturally perched him in the sit up position with eyes wide open. At first everything in sight was blurred and rapidly darkening/lightening. Almost a flush of consciousness hit him, as the rest of his form became apparent to him. Alive, with silver hair airily fluttering between his left hand as he observed the light dancing between hair strands. Each breath he pulled in felt strange to him, completely unfamiliar. The pulse of his apparent heart was foreign, but he knew not why. Though not afraid mostly because he did not know fear, this new one to the existence avast found it all indeed strange.

No identity, delved into the supreme unknown. He grew curious, as if called by his very surroundings in order to understand them. Steady he raised his form in a gentle role upon his unsteady feet. He noticed on the ground where now a being of life stood a star, white with 5 crosses standing defiantly against the black background upon the edge of circles that formed in between the tips of the star rippled away in slow pulsing flashes.  After correcting his head's position he took a step forward only to snag slightly on the white cloth that hadn't became apparent to him until now. He stood still after shortly correcting his step, and just observed what was around him.

Black to white

Abound, around locked into place was solid stone as giant archways that formed a chamber.  The observations about the place now surrounding the tall human form only put to words as aw, and ruin. Broke down the place was with cracks all throughout stone, and desolation washed away as the wind moved across the dusted tomes kicking it high into the air. The various tomes found around the area themselves were inlaid into the walls of the rounded chamber. He stood in the middle, looking one after the other in the 4 directions to have his eyes meet with 4 openings in exact crossways from where he currently stood. 3 of these open ways were Broken down with darkened rubble and various debris. The path that was directly behind him when he came to this place, held a skull amongst the rocks clutched with a rock in it's teeth. In front however, a bright light shown which at first hurt his eyes severely to look at, but now it seemed open, and inviting. He walked twords the light, an odd chuckle came out of him that he did not understand as he pondered his action into phrase.

"In these realms they are named many things, and all true to it's essence the aether, either, land of lands, Drifters central, the continuous planes of ever and for, even called the astral by some who drugs may or may not be an inspiration to.", Spoke a voice from behind a giant boulder which at first startled him. "These were and are all names similar to what many beings used to call this location which allowed them to transverse the planes of existence themselves.", The voice got louder as he shuffled closer to the boulder. "Comprised of infinite direction in every way up,down, left, right, rotational, lateral, vertical, depth, dimensional, and some would argue even quantum directionally but they are almost always insane.", He looked around the corner to finally see a large round and golden cylinder held aloft by a strange man in a brown embroidered cloak.

"Gravity does exist, but only down.", the stranger turned to face the nameless being, and both of them observed each other for a small while. The stranger interrupted the silence, "You are not suppose to be here.ヤ. The stranger let a small while go by before seemingly becoming annoyed at it all, "My you are a quite one, but I guess that is to be expected", the stranger turned to look through the glass again. "You can call me Stranger", the Stranger said without so much as gently vibrating the instrument he held to his eye.

Around them both was mystical place, that always looked very hazy far in the distance.  Odd clusters of land drifted along that just seemed to float by their own, with no tethers to keep them aloft. Some moved though these were often very small chunks, while the larger masses did not seem to.

"Many land masses you see around you often hold long lost, forgotten, or otherwise treasures of lords still existing or long past. None of the land here is actually native to this existence ported from vast , and usually destroyed existences.", The odd Stranger stated in a very matter of factual sort of way he seemed to carry with his cadence and speech pattern. "Now would you at least speak", demanded Stranger with a annoyed grundle in his voice. "I don't know what to say", stated nameless. "Well at least that is progress", grinned Stranger his blue hair blew apart in the wind, but held firm soon after. "Hmm, you are oblivious to any sort of name when it comes to calling yourself what you are. Would you permit me to state one for you?", The Stranger tilting his eye glass slightly down drifting his head into the direction of the nameless one with his eyes becoming almost mirror like in the light. The one of no name hesitated, "I guess that would be ok Stranger.", was quickly spoke in recognition of Stranger's question.

"Across many of these lands in the most popular areas exist structures erected for various purposes. From the insane zip lines of heavily high strung beings like", Stranger grumbled a bit, "Goblins, and imps. To the old  gears of omni mechanics doing mystical things even to this day. All the vastness of this place usually grays out and washes away every mention of even the strongest beings here." ,Stranger finally took the glass he had held gently tilted down and put it in an inside pocket in his robe. "You had a mark of a strong one.", Stranger gave a serious look fully facing in nameless's direction,"The name most fitting would be Ryle. For a reason you may come to realize later.", Ryle felt compelled to nod, but remained standing upright.
This is the first 4 chapters of "Tower".
